A police report obtained by NBC 6 Miami said Gordon, an NFL journeyman who was waived by the Denver Broncos in May, had an AR-15 assault rifle on the seat of his car, with two magazines of ammunition and a small amount of marijuana.

Gordon reportedly intended to shoot up the Office strip club after he had a confrontation there the night before. His girlfriend said he hadn’t slept in days.

Officers responded to the scene after a passerby reported seeing a man punching a woman and pushing her out of a Mercedes SUV.

The woman, who told police she lives with Gordon and has a 3-year-old child with him, said Gordon began “acting crazy” when she drove him to pick up his car near Tootsie’s strip club. The woman reportedly had redness, swelling and bruising on her body.

As Gordon was taken into custody, the report said, he yelled at an officer and kicked a car door, which hit an officer in her arm and shoulder.

Gordon was held on $6,000 bond and ordered to stay away from his girlfriend. He appeared in court Thursday morning.

According to the police report, Gordon’s girlfriend said he was evaluated three times in the last year under the Baker Act, also known as the Florida Mental Health Act. That law allows law enforcement officials, judges, physicians and mental health professionals to institutionalize someone without their permission for up to 72 hours if they believe the individual has a mental illness or could do harm to themselves or others, and refuses to be examined voluntarily or is unable to understand the need for an exam.

Miami-Dade court records also show Gordon was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession Jan. 27. That case is closed.

Gordon played at Miami Norland High and at UM from 2006-10, where he started 10 of 49 games. A sixth-round pick (181st overall) of the Oakland Raiders in 2011, he had appeared in games for the Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos.
