Miami Hurricanes announce two suspensions, give Sam Bruce three games

Before kicking off against Florida A&M on Saturday, the Hurricanes announced they suspended defensive tackle Gerald Willis for the game.

Additionally, freshman wide receiver Sam Bruce will sit for three games.

Both suspensions are officially for “violations of team rules,” according to UM.

Bruce’s suspension is believed to be related to an incident dating back to high school, in which he held a gun in a photo. Bruce was not listed on UM’s depth chart to open the year.

Willis is a redshirt sophomore who is expected to play a major role on UM’s defensive line, which will rotate players regularly. A source said his suspension is related to an incident last year.
