The Hurricanes’ first road game of the season, Saturday at Appalachian State, will be on ESPN, not ESPN2.

That’s according to Appalachian State’s athletics department, which tweeted the news early Sunday morning.

No. 25 Miami, 2-0 after its 38-10 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday, will kick off against the Mountaineers at noon Saturday.

App State, which arguably outplayed No. 9 Tennessee but lost 20-13 in overtime in the season-opener for both teams, beat Old Dominion handily (31-7) on Saturday to move to 1-1. Running back Marcus Cox put up 133 yards and three first-half touchdowns.

The Mountaineers are apparently excited to have ESPN come to Boone, N.C. Not sure if it’s the first time they’ve ever welcomed ESPN for a game, but it doesn’t seem like it happens much.
