[Porter’s AP ballot: Miami comes in at 16]

After blowing out Appalachian State on the road, Miami earned a little more love from poll voters.

The Hurricanes (3-0) jumped 10 spots to No. 15 in the Associated Press top 25. They were 25th last week.

In my AP ballot, I had them 16th.

It is Miami’s highest ranking since 2013, when it opened 7-0 and was ranked No. 7 entering its Oct. 2 matchup at No. 3 Florida State.

FSU, which UM hosts Oct. 8, fell 11 spots to 13th after losing badly at Louisville.

Notre Dame (hosts Miami on Oct. 29) dropped out.

The Hurricanes entered the Football Writers’ Association of America top 16 poll at No. 15. I also have a vote in that. UM jumped from six spots to No. 19 in the coaches poll.

This is the third straight week in the AP poll for Miami, which held at No. 25 in the first two polls of the regular season. UM was 26th in the preseason.
