Mark Richt approved of the Hurricanes’ new-slash-old uniforms, which they debuted against Florida State and will wear going forward.
“I thought they looked good,” Richt said on his weekly coaches’ show. “I think that’s a really classy look for our program, and one that I want to continue to have as long as I’m around.”
Miami’s throwback look is modeled after its uniforms of the 1980s and early ’90s. UM wears orange jerseys and white pants at home, and the reverse combination on the road. Richt said those may not be the only options UM will have.
“I don’t know if it’ll be this year, but somewhere down the road there will probably be an all-green version and an all-black version, but still the classic look,” he said. “That’s a possibility down the road.”
Wondering what that might look like? Here’s a hastily done rendering of Hurricanes running back Mark Walton in a green jersey and white pants:
Note that we simply swapped the orange for green in Photoshop. We don’t know if this is what a new-style green throwback uniform would actually look like. But now you have a visual.
