The Hurricanes started off the season receiving votes, climbed as high as No. 10, fell out and rebounded.

Following the conference championship games, Miami (8-4, 5-3 ACC) is earning the respect of a few poll voters.

The Hurricanes received 14 votes in the coaches’ poll, essentially tying for 34th. They received six votes in the Associated Press poll, placing 36th.

(Interesting: UM coach Mark Richt voted the Hurricanes 20th in his coaches’ poll ballot. If you’re curious, UM didn’t place in this writer’s latest AP ballot.)

Miami will learn its bowl destination Sunday afternoon.

Athletics Director Blake James told The Post earlier that morning that the most likely destinations for UM were the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando, against either West Virginia or Oklahoma State, or the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville, against an SEC opponent (reportedly Kentucky).
