One of the largest Hurricanes players — and personalities — in recent seasons is moving on.

Sunny Odogwu, a 6-foot-8, 325-pound redshirt senior right tackle, plans to transfer and play his final season elsewhere.

“Sunny and I had a good conversation, and he informed me that he feels his best opportunity to get the most playing time would be at another school,” coach Mark Richt said in a statement released by the school. “Sunny has been a great teammate and leader for this program, and we will miss him.”

In three seasons Odogwu started 14 games, but injures kept him off the field. He missed the final eight games of 2016 after breaking his lower leg and was limited this spring. He also tore his MCL in UM’s 2015 regular-season finale. Junior Tyree St. Louis and freshman Navaughn Donaldson are among Miami’s options at right tackle this fall.

Odogwu, who is from Ezeagu, Nigeria, shared the story of his roots with The Post in 2013. He grew up in a tiny, poor village and said he didn’t sleep on a bed until he came to the U.S. at 16 to chase a college basketball scholarship. He found football and said he wants to use the game to give back to his homeland.

UM said Odogwu earned his bachelor’s degree in human resources management and is working towards a master’s degree in international administration. He would be immediately eligible to play at another FBS school.

“I have enjoyed my four years at the University of Miami,” Odogwu said in a statement released by UM. “I look forward to continuing my playing career elsewhere, but I will always cherish the relationships I’ve built with my teammates, coaches and professors here at ‘the U.’”
