Jeff James’ next stop: the state of Mississippi.
James, a safety who parted ways with the Hurricanes at the conclusion of spring ball in late April, has transferred to Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi. The school confirmed in an email Monday evening that James is on campus.
The nephew of former Hurricanes All-American and four-time NFL Pro Bowler Edgerrin James played one season at Miami, appearing only in Miami’s season opener against Florida A&M.
In April, UM coach Mark Richt said in a statement announcing James’ departure that he “talked to Jeff and we both felt it was in his best interests to get a fresh start somewhere else. We wish him all the best in his future plans.”
