[Miami scheduled non-conference games in recruits’ hometowns]

If you plan to watch every Miami basketball game this season, and you plan to see them live, you’ll be staying up very late for at least one.

The Hurricanes will face Hawaii in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic on Saturday, Dec. 23, ESPN announced Wednesday. The tip time: 1 a.m. on the East Coast.

Locally, that’s 8 p.m. Hawaii–Aleutian Standard Time, on Friday, Dec. 22.

ESPNU will carry the game.

In the second round, UM will face either Davidson or New Mexico State the following night. The final round is Monday, Dec. 25. Miami could face Akron, Middle Tennessee, Princeton or USC in that game.

Miami played in the Diamond Head Classic in 2012-13, beating Hawaii and losing to No. 4 Arizona and Indiana State (overtime). That squad went onto win the program’s first ACC title and play in the Sweet 16 for the second time in program history.
