The Hurricanes can now hope for a championship celebration on their turf.

South Florida was one of four upcoming sites for the national championship game announced Wednesday by the College Football Playoff’s management committee.

Hard Rock Stadium will host the sport’s biggest game in Jan. 2021, following the 2020 season.

The other sites: Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in 2022, Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park, Inglewood, Calif. in 2023 and NRG Stadium in Houstin in 2024.

Since the institution of the college football playoff for the 2014 season, the championship game has been played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (Jan. 2015), University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona (2016) and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (2017).

This year’s game is at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Next year, the game is at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., a site the CFP is referring to as “Bay Area.” The game is in New Orleans the following year, at the Superdome.
