After leading Miami to the ACC Championship Game in his second year on the job, Mark Richt was named the Walter Camp National Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

He is the second Hurricanes coach to earn the award, joining Jimmy Johnson (1986).

UM (10-2, 7-1 ACC) had not played for the ACC title since joining the conference in 2004. The Canes won their first 10 games of the year, extending a nation-long winning streak to 15 games in the process.
