Apparently the oddsmakers feel pretty good about Miami as college football turns the page on 2017.

The Hurricanes have the eighth-best odds to win the 2018 national championship, tied with Auburn, Michigan State and Texas, according to Pregame CEO RJ Bell. Those teams are a 25-to-1 shot.

UM, which finished 10-3 last year, is behind national champion Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oklahoma.

Its first opponent of 2018, LSU, is right behind Miami at 30-t0-1, tied with Washington and UM’s Orange Bowl foe, Wisconsin. Rival Florida State is at 40-to-1.
