For the second week in a row, two Hurricanes were honored as ACC players of the week.

Tight end Chris Herndon (receiver of the week) and linebacker Michael Pinckney (linebacker) were selected by the conference office.

Herndon caught a career-high 10 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in UM’s 27-19 win over Syracuse. UM’s single-game mark for receptions is 12.

Pinckney totaled a team-high nine tackles (six solo), including career highs in both tackles for loss (3.5) and sacks (2.5). He helped the Miami defense become the first ACC unit to hold Syracuse without a first-half touchdown. Sunday, Pinckney was named a Walter Camp national player of the week.

The two join Braxton Berrios (receiver of the week, Oct. 9), Darrell Langham (co-receiver, Oct. 16) and Michael Badgley (specialist, Oct. 16) as Miami honorees through the first eight weeks of the season.
